Leticia Tenas is the designer and creator of Reina Inka. Originating from the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina, she draws inspiration from the city's style and fashion.
After years of travelling the world exploring different styles and trends she eventually settled on Australia's Gold Coast where she began her business designing and making her vibrant Reina Inka clutches.
Leticia merges her own sense of style and fashion with her love of native materials and colour to create 'one off' bag designs where every element is carefully selected to create something special and unique.
How long have you been making your bags?
I started making the first clutches in early 2012.
How did you get started?
On a trip to Buenos Aires I saw this amazing and colorful fabrics and I thought I had to do something with them. There were no quality bags with those fabrics that had style and that also stood out, so I decided to start making just that.
What is your greatest inspiration?
My inspiration comes from loving the product I make and feeling passionate about making it unique and beautiful. I am crazy about the colors of the fabrics, the pompoms and all the little things I add to make them be that “one-off” unique clutch.
What is the greatest challenge to owning and operating your own business?
Managing the time to do all the things that are involved in the business, from designing and making the products to photography, social media, marketing and accounting, to name a few!
What is the best thing about owning your own creative business?
It’s very satisfying to create products that I love and get such good feedback from the customers.
